I'm a therapist in training passionate about eating disorder treatment and research

In the vein of Carolyn Costin (founder of the Monte Nido treatment centers), I am very open about my former struggles and subsequent recovery from an eating disorder. I've been on the other side: I've felt the weight (literally and figuratively) that comes from carrying around a distorted view of self-worth. I've experienced the spectrum of anger, hopelessness, frustration, and anxiety that comes from feeling both out of control and overly in control. I have dedicated my life's work to not only help others recover from eating disorders, but to have a beautiful, thriving life after it. My research investigates ED etiology, progression, and culturally-competent treatment. I'm also trained to treat common eating disorder co-morbidities, such as: personality disorders, depression, anxiety, addictions, and college/career adjustment issues.

One should not strive to eliminate his complexes but to get into accord with them: they are legitimately what direct his conduct in the world.
