Dance & Movement

In addition to my academic pursuits, I consider dance and expressive movement to be essential to my identity. I have worked as a semiprofessional dancer, founded a successful collegiate dance team, taught various genres to students of various ages, and choreographed many pieces. Additionally, I have trained at an advanced level for many years in classical/folk Chinese dance, ballet, jazz, hiphop, contempoary, modern, lyrical, and more.

Although I no longer teach nor hold any active certifications, I continue to practice these various dance forms – in addition to Pilates and yoga – as a form of personal growth and self-care. I also plan to include somatic movement in my therapeutic interventions, as I believe that mental health and physical health are deeply intertwined.

Notable companies I have worked or trained with include: MIT Asian Dance Company, Dance Revelasian, OnStage Dance Company, Revolve Dance Crew, mimoSYNTH Dance Crew, Sole Songs Dance Academy, Boston Ballet, Ballet Austin, Ballet Arts of Austin, China Dance Theatre, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, Brookline Ballet.
